Every family has a story. Ours just happens to start in a backyard.
The Bjorling family lost their beloved cat, Black Sabbath. Deb, Eric, and their two sons Jon and Alex hold a funeral service in their own backyard.
That moment sparked something bigger: the idea that pets deserve the same dignity, love, and memorialization as any member of the family.
Pet Meadow officially opens its doors in Hamilton, NJ to both veterinary hospitals and pet families, creating a new kind of aftercare experience centered around empathetic, dedicated, and reliable services.
Pet Meadow expands it’s Hamilton office to include a private viewing room. Families from the tri-state area are given the chance to say one last goodbye in a supportive and peaceful space.
Pet Meadow reaches its first long-term partnerhsip with Columbus Central Veterinary Hospital – the start of long-lasting relationships with clinics who share the same commitment to caring for families and their beloved pets.
Pet Meadow launches its very first in-house proprietary tracking and chain-of-custody system.
The system was built internally to ensure accountability and transparency every step of the way. It paved the way for Pet Meadow, redefining what transparency and chain-of-custody could look like in pet aftercare.
Jon Bjorling brings Pet Meadow to Texas, expanding the company’s footprint and mission of customer-focused aftercare beyond the tri-state area.
The Pet Meadow namesake continues to grow organically. Dedicated and reliable services leads Pet Meadow to open a second storefront location in northern Jersey, expanding partnership opportunity to New York City.
As COVID shut the world shut down, Jon Bjorling went back to the drawing board with a clear goal: to build something that could make Pet meadow stronger, smarter, and more connected.
What emerged was the most advanced chain-of-custody system to date: PATH. Designed as a central hub of communication, PATH connected veterinary practices and Pet Meadow in real time, improving transparency, accountability, and the flow of information during the aftercare journey.
Pet Meadow surpasses 25,000 online pet tributes on petmeadow.com, leading to the launch of a searchable memorial experience. Proof that love leaves a pretty big paw print
Pet Meadow launches it’s online owner portal – the first of its kind in pet aftercare. With the owner portal, families can view important updates, explore memorial options, and stay connected through their pet’s aftercare journey.
Expanding its environmental and sustainability focus, Pet Meadow begins offering Aquamation – a gentle, water-based alternative to traditional cremation.
